The best things in life happen when you’re willing to get uncomfortable. If you want to get fit you have to push your body, it’s uncomfortable. If you want to learn something new it can be uncomfortable until you get it. It you want to meet someone you have to put yourself out there…. Yep it can be uncomfortable too. Sometimes to make art you have to get a little uncomfortable… in this case it was sitting in the ocean, in the rain, in February to get the shot. A little discomfort to get something great is worth it. I know for a lot of people just getting in front of a camera can feel a little uncomfy. Boudoir especially is a vulnerable space to be in. We don’t want to look silly, we feel self conscious… we don’t know what to do. I get it! I say do it! Get uncomfortable in the name of art and the name of growth and self love. I always try to make sessions fun so we can breeze past that initial feeling of, “oh god I can’t do this is feel stupid”, as fast as possible. The general consensus at the end of a session is “omg I am so glad I did that!”. That’s the goal. To leave feeling good. To conquer a fear, to get a beautiful photograph to hold onto for years, to have art of yourself you can love and admire, to grow as a human. Everyone has their own level of pushing themselves. For some, just showing up to a session is their max and that’s fantastic, you did it! But, it’s always fun for when we get in the zone and my clients are willing to do whatever it takes to get the shot and create something powerful! So just remember if you’ve been wanting to book a session, if you have an idea but you feel silly, or you’re waiting to “lose weight”, or what ever is holding you back. Don’t! That feeling will pass and you’ll be glad you got uncomfy. I’ll help you along the way I promise!

Frolicking in the twilight.
This was such a magical day. It poured rain for half the day and then there was a stunning golden hour that cleared right up…. But we missed most of it due to speeches. But that’s ok we played in the final moments of sunset and a little bit of the blue hour and I absolutely love what we got from it!
